 River of Words conducts the world's largest youth poetry and art contest in the world. The contest is free to enter. And is open to kids up to 19 years of age who are not in college. Grand Prize winners win a trip to Washington, DC, where they're honored at the Library of Congress, the contest's co-sponsor. The winners and finalist have their work published in an annual anthology and posted on the organization's website, www.riverofwords.org. Every entrant gets a certificate. The contest's theme is "Watersheds," and entries should reflect your experience of the natural world. Check out the amazing art and poetry from kids of all ages from around the world on their site. |
